In The Pink, Portugal's leading fine art photography gallery, presents, ICONS, at its Loulé gallery from 8th of August to early October 2026. The show celebrates the fourth anniversary of In The Pink introducing world-class photography to the Algarve with leading photographers David Yarrow, Albert Watson, Steve Schapiro, Duffy, Terry O'Neill, Tyler Shields, Bastiaan Woudt, Nuno Cera and Jacob Gils.

David Yarrow’s evocative and cinematic photography continually refuses categorisation. His latest collection of works showcases his expanding catalogue of subjects and settings, earning him an ever-growing following among art collectors and enthusiasts. Skyfall, a major new work completed earlier this year, is unveiled here for the first time in Loulé.
Albert Watson is highly regarded by David Yarrow himself, and In The Pink have represented him since the gallery first opened in 2022. Here, we have a selection of his most iconic images. His career spans more than five decades, built on bold compositions and a classical style ranging from fashion to celebrity portraiture and personal projects. A master of traditional photographic craft, Watson is often mentioned alongside Avedon and Penn, with countless magazine covers and awards to his name.
Steve Schapiro, the legendary American photojournalist, spent decades documenting the twentieth century's defining figures; Icons focuses on his extraordinary photographs of Muhammad Ali — images that capture not just a boxer but a cultural icon in the truest sense of the word. In the same era, Duffy, credited with capturing and creating the spirit of the Swinging Sixties and Seventies, is represented with a selection of his iconic work with David Bowie from the Aladdin Sane album cover session, displaying both EYES OPEN and EYES CLOSED. Terry O'Neill completes this trio of twentieth-century greats, having photographed the era's defining icons: the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, and Faye Dunaway the morning after her Oscar win. Icons marks a rare opportunity to acquire it in the Algarve, including his celebrated portrait of David Bowie with the jumping dog, among the most iconic images ever captured of the star.
Representing a new generation, Tyler Shields continues to redefine what a photograph can say with work that is provocative, cinematic and unmistakably his own; as one of the gallery's fastest-rising artists, his inclusion in Icons cements his place among the greats. Dutch photographer Bastiaan Woudt brings his stark, sculptural images of the human form, drawing comparisons to the old masters. And offering a homegrown counterpoint to the exhibition's international icons, a Portuguese Icon, Nuno Cera, last year representing Portugal at the Venice Biennale, exhibits from his Janela Infinita series and Danish photographer Jacob Gils presents a new body of work shot across Portugal, from the streets of Lisbon to the light of Vilamoura.
