João Mariano's series portrays the ancestral ways of human habitation in this country. From the challenging lives of men who harvest gooseneck barnacles on sharp rocky seashores to the intricate process of crafting medronho in mountainous regions.
Maria Oliveira's artworks narrate the poetic struggle to tame tides for salt production and reveal the fragility of those living off the land, highlighting beauty in banal moments.
Vasco Célio's "Hidden Book of Odds" uncovers the poetry in unusual daily sights, playing with the tension between self and otherness. His works shed light on the spectacular in the ordinary, urging viewers to reexamine their surroundings for untold stories.
