Overview

In The Pink is pleased to present a solo exhibition by the acclaimed Portuguese artist and photographer Nuno Cera, opening on 28th of November 2025.

The show brings together key works from three of Cera’s most significant long-term series: Janela Infinita (Infinite Window), A Room With A View, and Hora Certa (Right Time).

Spanning various locations and decades, the exhibition explores how landscape, architecture, and light shape our perception of time and place. Cera's photography is often described as cinematic, as it balances between observation and fiction, offering viewers moments of stillness in a busy world.

Nuno Cera is one of Portugal’s leading visual artists, known for his deep engagement with space, time, and the emotional layers of urban life. His work has been exhibited at major institutions including Serralves Museum, MAAT, CCCB Barcelona, and the Venice Architecture Biennale. He is the co-curator of the 2025 Portuguese Pavilion (Paraíso, Hoje) and artist-in-residence at the Champalimaud Foundation.

This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to see three major series by Nuno Cera together, highlighting a practice that is visually striking, conceptually rich, and deeply attuned to the changing world around us.

• Janela Infinita (Infinite Window): a poetic investigation of the ocean as both subject and metaphor. Through images captured along coasts and rivers, Cera treats water as a mirror which absorbs and reflects the world around it. Mist, ocean, and sky dissolve into each other, creating subtle compositions where perspective shifts and meditative textures emerge.

• A Room With A View: Cera turns his lens towards numerous cities seen from anonymous hotel rooms — Madrid and Paris take centre stage in this exhibition. These nocturnal urban scenes overlay the intimacy of a hotel interior with the vastness of cityscapes, blending the private and the public in one image.

• Hora Certa (Right Time): shot across various cities, this series captures moments of transition where the ordinary becomes charged with quiet intensity. These images feel suspended in time, filled with light, fractured reflections, and unexpected stillness. They speak to a world on the brink of change, where landscapes echo both past and future.
