Storytelling in Lisbon: David Yarrow

In The Pink is proud to present Storytelling, the first-ever solo exhibition in Lisbon by world-renowned photographer David Yarrow.

Named after his acclaimed book, this exhibition brings together ten years of Yarrow’s photographic adventures—each image a cinematic journey into places of wonder and imagination.

Yarrow is not just a photographer; he is a creator of visual worlds. Like a film director, he builds his scenes with precision and flair, often blending wild landscapes, human icons, and unexpected narratives. His subjects include legends such as Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Bill Nighy, Gary Player, and Erling Haaland—each portrayed in bold, dramatic compositions that challenge convention.

Born in Glasgow and inspired by fellow Scots Albert Watson and Harry Benson, Yarrow was just 20 when he photographed the 1986 World Cup Final for The Times of London. His iconic image of Diego Maradona remains etched in sports history. Though his path led him through the world of finance, his true calling was always photography. In 2014, after capturing a Great White Shark in False Bay, he committed fully to the art form.

Initially focused on wildlife, Yarrow’s vision evolved to include humans, creating immersive narratives where man and beast, culture and nature, all coexist. His work transports us to the world’s most remote locations—offering glimpses into rare animal encounters, awe-inspiring landscapes, and indigenous stories, all with extraordinary intimacy and power.

David Yarrow’s limited editions are now exhibited and collected worldwide. With over $120 million in print sales and $15 million raised for charity—including through his own foundation—his work resonates far beyond the gallery walls.

Founded in 2022 in the Algarve, In The Pink has quickly become a leading gallery for fine art photography in the Iberian Peninsula.
